The Fujifilm S6000 (called the S6500 in some countries) has 6 megapixels and 10.7x zoom (28mm-300mm). It is a good choice because it has a large, super CCD sensor that produces good results up to ISO 800 and has 10.7x zoom. The wide angle is nice for taking some shots. However, it’s a large, heavy camera so it may not be easy to carry around. It has a manual zoom ring. Some people like using a manual zoom ring, but others prefer a zoom lever. The S6000 lacks Image Stabilization which most other ultrazooms have.

The Fujifilm S700 (called the S5700 in some countries) has 7 megapixels and 10x zoom (38mm-380mm). It’s called the little brother of the S6000 because in some ways it looks like it but it’s much smaller and lighter. However, it lacks some features of the S6000. For instance, it doesn’t have the large super CCD sensor and can only produces good results up to ISO 400. It doesn’t have Image Stabilization.

If you prefer having IS, there is the Canon S3. It has 6 megapixels, 12x zoom (36mm - 432mm), and a swivel LCD. It can produce good results up to ISO 400.
